Sales tax codes
Every quote and invoice line has a tax code. New documents start from the customer’s default tax, else their province or state, else the company default below. Canadian codes follow GST, HST, QST, PST and RST; US codes are the state base rate only: add local rates where they apply and check whether your services are taxable. Have your accountant review these before sending real invoices.
